Things to have ready when you call

It will help you to get the most out of your call if you get together these details beforehand:

  • Proof of income - we need to know how often you're paid. For example, are you paid weekly, fortnightly, four weekly or monthly? We also need to know if you have any deductions showing on your wage slips, such as pensions, local property tax, health insurance and credit union deductions
  • Social Welfare payments - we need the details of any benefits you receive and how often you receive these
  • Expenditure - details of your day-to-day spending on household utilities, food, vehicles, clothing and entertainment costs, as well as other one-off costs that crop up over the year, such as car servicing and NCT
  • Secured debts - mortgage and buy-to-let details including account numbers, monthly payments, outstanding balances (including arrears). If you've had any forebearance or restructures in the past with your lenders, please have the details to hand
  • Other debts - you'll need to have details of any other debts you have, inclusing any personal loans, credit cards and credit union debts. We'll again need the account numbers, your monthly payments and outstanding balances

If you're self-employed:

  • Self-employed - please have ready three years' financial accounts and your most recent self-assessment. If your income has recently changed and doesn't match your accounts, please calculate your income once your tax, PRSI and any other business related costs have been deducted
